BX Kids in Motion program

The BX Kids in Motion program uses physical fitness, nutrition information and measurement of weight and body mass index to address juvenile obesity for youth ages 5-16. We use outdoor and indoor activity to keep youth physically active to assist in ensuring weight control and weight loss. 

We use various equipment to assist in physical activity. The program will operate five days a week with each participant required to attend at least three workouts per week for up to two hours. The session will last for 12 weeks up to three months with a commitment from participants to attend at least three sessions annually.

Outdoor activities will include volleyball, walking, running, tennis, softball, flag football, soccer, basketball, etc. To measure the success of the program we will weigh participants weekly to determine weight loss success and adherence to the nutrition information provided.

We will also measure body mass index monthly to obtain a proper gauge of participant’s success while in the program. We will conduct information sessions on a monthly basis with parents to determine the adherence to the program goals and information provided.

 
Activities will take place Monday-Thursday 6-8pm and Saturdays 10am-2pm.
Registration for 2013 begins in September at our office at 135 Einstein Loop, Room 52 on the lower level, Bronx, NY.
